We envision a community where people of color (POC) can reclaim and celebrate their cultures while ensuring equitable participation in the broader social and economic ecosystem. Through political education and active engagement with policymakers, UTSAV strives to eliminate personal biases, anti-harassment, anti-racism, and institutional racism, fostering a society where POC can thrive.

Food Security through monetary and food assistance, from 2019 continuing to current, with a spend of $400,000
COVID education and assistance starting 2020, including vaccination assistance. Set up multiple vaccination camps, made around 40,000 masks, distributing masks once available, distributed test kits and created education programs. Spend of $150,000
Built a coalition to support Census 2020. Worked to increase the counting of POC. Spend of $100,000
Celebrated South Asian culture through multiple events, around 4 events per year starting 2017. All the events were free and inclusive to everyone living in the state of Washington. The events in 2023 were attended by more than 40,000 community members. Spend of $250,000
Provided advocacy for POC, starting in 2016. The latest, in 2023, was to ask for justice for Jaahnavi Kandula. UTSAV was featured in more than 250 news and TV media all over the world and had more than 50 million hits in social media. Spend of $5000
Established health education programs (including mental health), oral health programs, nutritional health programs that are culturally appropriate and specific to the needs of South Asian community. Spend of $90,000
